The Construction Inspector (CI) shall serve as a technical assistant to the Government PE, and receives assignments, guidance, and direction from the PE. Will be expected to create and/or draft contract documents. Performs inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials, and all issues concerning the construction of the project. Determines the acceptability of the day-to-day work performed by the contractor. Review and recommend accepting or rejecting daily reports submitted by the contractor. Informs the PE of possible constructive changes, and recommends technical solutions. Develops independent engineer’s estimates when requested. Other duties as assigned.
*This project will be a 6-9 month contract*

One of the following certifications is required:
* NICET Certificate
* EIT Certificate
* Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology
4 years’ experience required and at least 1 year serving as Project or Resident Engineer or Assistant Project or Resident Engineer on State or Federal highway or bridge construction projects.
A comprehensive knowledge of highway construction methods, traffic control, environmental compliance, surveying, equipment, trades, materials, schedules, and practices is required.
Must be able to interpret project plans, specifications, contracts, regulations, schedules, submittals, and detailed cost estimates. Monitor and evaluate the construction contractor’s quality control inspection and testing systems.
Must be proficient in the internet, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Primavera.
Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish)
